What's New
Fur & Suits is built and maintained by a solo developer as an ongoing project — here's what's changed recently, pulled straight from the build log.
August 2026
Unlock-all option on the Bonus Letter screen (iOS)
Aug 3
The $4.99 "Unlock All 10" hidden-character purchase — previously only available from the lobby's Hidden Characters screen — now also appears on the post-win Bonus Letter popup, so you can skip the puzzle grind without backing out to the lobby first.
In-app mute button (iOS)
Aug 3
Added a mute button to the top-right corner of the app, matching the web version. It mutes just the game's sound effects and music, so you don't have to flip your phone's hardware mute switch — and silence everything else — just to quiet the game.
Remembers your avatar
Aug 3
The game now remembers the last avatar you picked, the same way it's always remembered your name — no more re-picking it from the carousel every time you start a new game, solo or online.
July 2026
Hidden character pack (iOS)
Jul 22
Added a pack of 10 hidden characters that don't show up in the normal character-select screen — they're earned through play. Win a solo game against AI and you bank a letter guess toward a random two-word phrase, hangman-style. Fully solve the phrase and you're dealt 3 face-down cards from the still-locked pool; pick one to unlock it for good, then the next solo win starts a fresh phrase. Currently iOS-only, since unlocks need to persist reliably per device.
Visual refresh
Jul 11
Reworked the game's accent color from a flat purple to a softer violet/plum across cards, buttons, active-turn highlights, and win/loss states, plus cleaned up spacing around the logo and start screen so it doesn't feel cramped against the panel edges.
Faster loading
Jul 10
Fixed sound effects and avatar portraits so they're cached properly between visits instead of re-downloading every time you open the game — this follows a performance pass earlier in the month (see below) that found the game was silently fetching several megabytes of audio on every single page load, even with sound off.
Multiplayer sync fix
Jul 7
Fixed a bug where a web player joining an iOS-hosted game would see the correct Power Suit card for the first hand, then stop updating for the rest of the game unless they refreshed the page.
Quicker rematches
Jul 2
"New Game" from the round-end / Game Over screen no longer leaves a stale solo save behind — previously it could prompt you to resume a game you'd just intentionally ended.
June 2026
In-game tutorial hints
Jun 29
Added short, one-time tips that point out the Power Suit and basic guessing/play strategy right when they first come up in a game, instead of relying on everyone reading the full How to Play guide before their first round. Each tip shows once, the first time it's actually relevant — they sit alongside the Rules screen rather than replacing it.
Relaxed turn timer
Jun 29
Extended the auto-play timer from 60 seconds to 2 minutes for guessing and playing a card, so multiplayer games feel less rushed. Repeat AI-forced turns still use a shorter timer.
Clearer round-end sound cues
Jun 23
Split the "you won a set" sound out from the generic chime so it's obvious when you personally took a trick, and fixed the somber "you lost" cue playing even in games you actually won.
Performance pass
Jun 24
Found (via a PageSpeed audit) that the game was eagerly downloading roughly 4MB of sound effect files on every page load regardless of whether audio was ever turned on. Fixed the load to only fetch a sound the first time it's actually played.
